These 7" records are cut by hand, on a lathe, in a very hot environment, partly purely for the love, and quality of the resulting record, hence the price tag. As a result, these are EXTREMELY limited. The second run on cuts are available NOW! The first copies were sold immediately, at the show where we played with Miracle Legion.

about

Lathe cut by hand by Phil @ 3.45RPM Lathe Cutting.
A single 7" vinyl record featuring 3 tracks.

The compilation features the two arguably "most popular" hits off the full length 'Simple Songs', my first full length solo album.

An additional spoken word piece is included, by Kaylee-Ann. It is a recording of her reading out one of her Facebook posts on Brighton beach. Many thanks to her for letting me include it on this record.
I felt it captured many of the notions I share with her about enjoying life. This track is not available anywhere else.

All these songs were written over the course of a year or more.
I always start with the song, a line, a lyric, and then a song builds, and then i go to work on strange bits, fearing not for the over-burial of the song, cos I tend to write them until I feel they are complete.

My approach to production serves to satisfy a curiosity and fascination with the recording process, and experimentation with sound, harmony and composition... it always reminds me of the first few times I heard the Flaming Lips; at first I couldn't really process all that was going on, but over time it just kept giving and I really loved it's dense texture. Nothing which appears on these recordings is left in there 'by accident'.

Dedicated to the enduring happy memories of both Helen Waddington and Gremlyn the cat.

Cheers to Deb Highfield for helping me out of the artwork.

New Mistake is the name of a 'band' style live version of these songs that I put together to play a show for Melting Vinyl in Brighton, with Miracle Legion, who's music I was very much affected by via the soundtracking of 'Pete and Pete' on Nickelodeon when I was a kid.
Go and Google "Hey Sandy".
Thank you to Andy, Tomo and James for all your help with the live project, and every other way ever.
Thanks to Shaun for all his help too.
Peace and Love.
Hit me up I love a chat.

Track Name: Could You Have Loved Me (Vinyl Version)
I often wonder if you could of loved me
I often wonder if you could of loved me
I often wonder if you could of loved me C F C G
if you had been given had been given to chance

sooner or later running around (nostalgia)
if we were given to feeling it out
if we had ever been given a chance to seek it out
considering vouching
laying it down
not ruling it out

is it a question of living with it now
as we return to positions of power
we’re under control, we reason it out
fend off our imaginations
peter it out
manage our emotions
carefully for now

I often wonder if you could of loved me
I often wonder if you could of loved me
I often wonder if you could of loved me F C G
if you had been given had been given the chance

is it a surprise that I’m falling short?
missing the mark where I’ve thought of on an even keel
without a question or a doubt
misinterpretation, or petering out
without infatuation, or casting a doubt
or Hesitation, im feeling it now
reject temptation,
reject temptation,

I often wonder if you could of loved me
I often wonder if you could of loved me F C G
if you had been given had been given to chance

I often wonder if you could of loved me
I often wonder if you could of loved me
I often wonder if you could of loved me C F C G
if you had been given had been given to chance

if you had been given had been given x2
the chance x 4

Why can’t I let it go?
Track Name: Still On The Rebound (Vinyl Version)
I’m still on the rebound, from my first real love, but when you are 19, who gives things up?
I’m still healing from our first real touch, your head and your heart beat matched with mine.
that never left my mind.

I remember when Im with someone new, I think about all the things you and I would do.

It brings back a fury, yeah i found anger with you, adjusted reality I fully commit to.

I’m in love with a memory, that is so perfect. It keeps creeping up on me, challenging my regret

Suddenly, 10 years on the bender, It’s a painful agenda, I will never be happy, blaming you.

so I’m sorry if you meet me and I seem elsewhere.
Thank you for asking - It’s not your problem, sure, lets leave it there.
